Lisa Bluder is a well-known American college basketball coach currently serving as the head coach of the University of Iowa women's basketball team. She was born on April 25, 1965, in Marion, Iowa. Bluder has been coaching for over 30 years and has achieved significant success in her career.
Bluder began her coaching career in 1984 as an assistant coach at St. Ambrose University before moving on to serve as the head coach at NAIA school University of St. Francis. She then moved on to coach at Division II school Drake University where she had a successful tenure and won numerous conference championships.
In 2000, Bluder was hired as the head coach of the University of Iowa women's basketball team. Under her leadership, the team has consistently been competitive in the Big Ten Conference and has made multiple NCAA Tournament appearances. Bluder has been named Big Ten Coach of the Year multiple times and has helped develop numerous players who have gone on to play professionally.
